It's crazy how much this smoothie tastes like a mint chip ice cream! Ingredients: 1 Banana - Frozen, Sliced into Coins 1/2 Cup Any Milk - I Used Almond 1 Scoop Vanilla or Chocolate Mint Protein Powder 1 Cup Spinach 2 teaspoons Matcha Green Tea Powder 1 teaspoon Peppermint Extract 1 Tablespoon Cacao Nibs - Plus More To Sprinkle On Top Directions: Blend all ingredients in a powerful blender and enjoy! Makes 1 Peppermint Chip Matcha Smoothie
Are you going to the gym or on vacay? ;) Ingredients: 1/4 Cup Fresh or Canned Pineapple in 100% Juice 1/2 Frozen Banana 1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder 1/4 Cup Cottage Cheese or Greek Yogurt 1/2 Cup Pineapple Juice or Coconut Juice 1 Tablespoon Unsweetened Shredded Coconut - Large or Medium Shred 3 Cubes of Ice Directions: Blend all ingredients in a blender until mixed, but still a little chunky, the texture adds to the 'Tropical Vacation Drink' effect. Pour smooth into a glass or a shake container to take with you. Enjoy! Makes 1 Tropical Protein Smoothie
Ingredients: 1 Frozen Banana 1 Scoop Chocolate Casein Protein Powder 1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter 1 Tablespoon Chocolate Hemp Protein Powder 1 Tablespoon Raw Cacao Powder 1 Cup Almond Milk 3-4 Cubes Ice NOTE: You can sub Whey Protein Powder for the Casein, but that will make the smoothie a thinner consistency. The Casein Protein Powder makes the smoothie thick, like a milkshake. Also, you can sub any other milk, water or even cold coffee for the almond milk. I add only a tablespoon of Hemp Protein Powder because more than that gives smoothies a 'grainy' texture that I don't care for. However, not only it is a great taste/texture in addition to the cacao and casein powder, it also adds more protein, omega-3's and fiber to the smoothie. Directions: Blend all ingredients in a blender, pour into a glass and enjoy! NOTE: One whole smoothie is an equivalent for a meal replacement, but you can divide the smoothie into 2 servings for more of a snack. Simply store the remaining smoothie in the refrigerator with a lid or a piece of plastic wrap over the top of it and drink it later. Makes 1 Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Smoothie
Birthday Week can take a lot out of a person, this mid week detox green juice is just the cure. However, be warned this is a very 'Green' drink, not for the faint of heart. It's kind of like drinking a salad, but oh so good for you :) Ingredients: 3 Oranges Juice from 1 Lemon 1 Inch Peeled Ginger 1 Cup Spinach 3 Stalks Kale 1/2 Cup Cilantro 1 teaspoon Spirulina Powder 1 teaspoon Chlorella Powder 3 Cups Coconut Water Directions:
Peel oranges and slice into wedges, peel fresh ginger and juice the lemon. Add these ingredients and one cup of the coconut water to a large, strong blender. Add both teaspoons of Spirulina and Chlorella, another cup of coconut water and blend again. Add spinach, kale leaves (not the stem), washed cilantro, the last cup of coconut water, and blend until fully combined. Chances are there will still be some fine leafy green chunks floating around in the juice, but that's all part of the fun. Store in a jar with a tight fitting lid, so that you can shake up it up again before pouring yourself a cold glass of seriously healthy green juice. Makes 2 to 4 Servings of Super Green Detox Juice A few years ago I decided to break down and buy a juicer. Ever since then, I have been experimenting with all types of fruits and vegetable juice mixtures. This one is by far the most basic, and also one that just screams 'Summer.' There is something about fresh squeezed orange juice that tastes so much better than any store bought type that I've ever tried. I have added a few other complementary ingredients to make this juice a little less sweet and a little more citrusy. I hope you like my interruption of fresh juiced O.J. Ingredients: 6 Large Navel Oranges - Peeled 1 Large Red Grapefuit - Peeled 1/2 Lemon - I like Mylar Lemons because they are the sweetest 1 inch Ginger Root Directions: Put all ingredients into a juicer and juice! It's just that simple. Refrigerate and enjoy for a delicious dose of vitamin C. Happy juicing! Makes 4 Servings Orange Citrus Juice
